About GeoProof
GeoProof is a GPS stamp camera for people who need a photo to say where and when it was taken — inspectors, adjusters, surveyors, pest control technicians, roofers and anyone else whose job depends on a defensible photo record. It is built and maintained independently, not by a large software company, and it is designed around a small set of promises we keep on every release.
What the app does
At the moment you take a photo, GeoProof draws the GPS coordinates, the resolved street address, the time (checked against a public time server rather than trusting the phone's own clock), compass heading and altitude directly into the image. Because the stamp is part of the picture rather than hidden metadata, it survives being emailed, messaged, screenshotted or dropped into a PDF report — the paths that strip EXIF data every day.
Every photo also gets a SHA-256 fingerprint at the moment of capture, so the file can be re-checked later for whether it has changed. That is the entire claim: a change check on a file. GeoProof does not certify photos, does not provide legal opinions, and is not a substitute for whatever evidentiary standard your industry or court actually requires — see the support page for the longer version of that caveat.
What the app does not do
- No user accounts, and nothing to sign up for before taking a photo
- No cloud upload — photos stay on your device, by design, not as a setting you have to find
- No advertising, no ad SDKs, and no third-party analytics or attribution trackers inside the app
- No subscription — a one-time Pro unlock, handled entirely by Apple or Google

Who's behind it
GeoProof is built and supported independently. There is no venture-backed company or outside investor behind the app, and no data business subsidizing the free tier — it is funded by the one-time Pro purchase, which is also why there is nothing to sell by tracking you. Support requests get a reply from the person who actually works on the app, not a ticketing queue.
