It helps a lot if you include your device model, your iOS or Android version, and the app version shown at the bottom of the Settings screen.
Common questions
The stamp shows no address
Address lookup needs a network connection. Coordinates and time still stamp correctly offline, and the address will simply be left off rather than guessed.
The GPS accuracy number is high
Accuracy depends on your surroundings. Indoors, under dense tree cover or between tall buildings the figure rises. Step into open sky and wait a few seconds for the reading to settle before capturing.
I bought Pro but the features are locked
Open Settings and use Restore purchases. If it is still locked, email us with the store you bought from and the approximate date, and we will sort it out.
Can I move my photos to a new phone?
Photos are stored inside the app on your device. Export what you need as a PDF report, or save photos to your gallery, before switching devices.
Does GeoProof upload my photos?
No. Photos never leave your device. The full list of network requests the app does make is on the privacy page.
Is a GeoProof photo legally valid evidence?
We do not claim that, and you should be sceptical of any app that does. GeoProof records device GPS, checks the time against a public time server, and can tell you whether a photo file is unchanged since capture. Whether that is accepted in any particular process is a matter for that process, not for us.
How do I delete my data?
Delete photos in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. We hold no copy of anything.
