A GPS Map Camera Alternative
If you are comparing apps that stamp location and time onto a photo, the stamp itself is rarely what decides it. The differences that matter show up afterwards — where the photo ends up, what you pay over a year, and whether you need an account before you can take the first picture.
What follows is deliberately narrow. Every row about GeoProof is something we can state about our own app. Every row about GPS Map Camera is marked verify until it has been checked against the live store listing and that app's own privacy policy — better a blank than a guess about somebody else's product.

Where GeoProof is different
These are claims about our own app only, and they are why the two end up feeling different in daily use.
Nothing uploads. There is no GeoProof server holding job photos, because the photos never leave the phone. That is not a promise about retention windows or encryption at rest — there is simply nothing on our side to retain. You decide what gets sent, to whom, and when.
One-time payment. The app is free to use, with a one-time Pro unlock for the extras. No subscription, no per-seat billing, and no ads in the app or on the photos.
PDF report export, grouped by job. Set a job name, shoot the day's photos, and build a PDF on the phone with everything grouped under that job. It goes out with the invoice from the driveway rather than getting assembled in the office a week later.
SHA-256 fingerprint at capture. Every photo gets a cryptographic fingerprint the moment it is taken. Re-check the file later and GeoProof tells you whether that exact file has changed since. That is the whole claim — a change check, and nothing beyond it. It is not a legal certification and we do not present it as one.
Switching
There is nothing to migrate. Photos you already took with another app stay exactly where they are, in your camera roll, untouched — GeoProof does not import them, rewrite them, or ask for access to them. It stamps from the moment of capture forward, so switching means installing it and using it on the next job.
There is no account to move either, because there is no account. Nothing to export, no data to request, and if you decide against it, uninstalling takes the app and leaves every photo you have already taken.
